Jamie Shafto

Jamie Shafto is a founding partner of Davies Kelly and a testifying delay expert with over 25 years’ experience in dispute resolution and the delivery of complex construction projects. He is regularly appointed in international and domestic arbitrations and has given written and oral evidence under cross-examination by King’s Counsel, barristers and lawyers. Before turning to disputes he planned and programmed major projects in London and the Gulf, from airports and hospitals to towers and rail.

• Delay expert in a DIAC arbitration between an owner and its main contractor on a hospital in the UAE. Oral evidence under cross-examination by King’s Counsel.
• Delay expert in an ICC arbitration between an EPC contractor and its civil subcontractor on a solar power plant in the Middle East. Oral evidence under cross-examination.
• Delay expert in an ICC arbitration between a main contractor and a specialist systems subcontractor on an international airport in the Gulf. Oral evidence under cross-examination.
• Delay expert in two arbitrations, one ICC and one DIAC, between an EPC contractor and subcontractors on a crude oil refinery in the UAE.
• Delay expert in DIAC arbitrations on a landmark hotel and on ancillary buildings for a transit system in the UAE.
• Expert advice in an ICC expert determination between employer and contractor on phosphate plants in North Africa.
